IUPUI Launches Master's Degree Program
for Athletic Administrators
In cooperation with the National Interscholastic
Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), the IUPUI
Department of Physical Education offers the opportunity
to earn a Master of Science degree in Physical Education
with an emphasis on interscholastic athletic administration.
In order to qualify for this plan of study, the degree
seeking student must be a member of the NIAAA and have
completed a prescribed number of the NIAAA Leadership
Training Courses (LTC’s). For each set of three
LTC’s there is an Indiana University graduate course
for which these LTC’s are the prerequisite. Upon
completion of the appropriate LTC’s, the student
is able to register for the “linked” graduate
course. Completion of the Indiana University (IUPUI) courses
require a series of writing assignments based upon the
material taught in the linked LTC’s.
For a list of steps to follow regarding the NIAAA/IUPUI
graduate degree connection, go to http://petm.iupui.edu
Select Physical Education and then Graduate Program and
then highlight Academic Programs and then select HS Sport
Administration from the red border. After reading the
instructions, then select LTC Registration Form at the
bottom of the page. This will lead you to the complete
list of LTC’s and information on applying to IUPUI
for the degree.
The first course will be offered in Indianapolis in a
one-week intensive class to satisfy the first of two IUPUI
on-campus “residency requirements” from July
14-18 and tuition for all 36 credit hours will be $300
per credit hour. Contact Bob Lovell at rllovell@iupui.edu
for more information.
