2007 Award Recipients

AWARD OF MERIT

The most prestigious NIAAA award presented to an individual who has shown outstanding leadership and meritorius service in interscholastic athletics or related areas. This award is selected by the Board of Directors and is not presented every year. The 2006 NIAAA Award of Merit was presented at the conference luncheon on Monday, December 11 in Anaheim, California.

THOMAS E. FREDERICK AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

A prestigious award presented annually to an NIAAA member to honor in perpetuity, Mr. Frederick's invaluable contributions to the NIAAA. The NIAAA annually selects and honors from within its membership, an individual whose loyalty to the NIAAA and contributions to the profession represents excellence in achievement. The 2006 NIAAA TEF Award was presented at the conference luncheon on Monday, December 11 in Anaheim, California.

FRANK KOVALESKI PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD


This award established by the NIAAA Board of Directors at the recommendation of the Awards Committee in 2007 is presented to a recipient who possesses and has contributed to the vision of Professional Development – the legacy of Frank Kovaleski. Frank was instrumental in the creation of the Leadership Training Program and the expansion of the Certification Program of the NIAAA. The Frank Kovaleski Award is presented annually to an NIAAA member who has made significant contributions and demonstrated excellence in professional development at the local, state and national levels.

 DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARDS

Presented annually to individuals outside the field of athletic administration, as well as NIAAA members in recognition of their length of service, special accomplishments and contributions to interscholastic athletics at the local, state and national levels. Nominations are submitted by state athletic director associations, screened by the Awards Committee, and selected by the Board of Directors. The 2006 NIAAA Distinguished Service Awards were presented to the following individuals during the conference luncheon on Monday, December 11 in Anaheim, California.

NFHS CITATIONS

Each year, the National Federation of State High School Associations presents Citations to outstanding athletic administrators in recognition of contributions to interscholastic athletics at the local, state and national levels. The 2006 National Federation Citations were presented to the following individuals during the National Athletic Directors Conference Banquet on Tuesday, December 12 in Anaheim, California.
